Data protection

If you do not wish your address to be passed on, please notify us in writing up to 20 days before the event. Please read the detailed information in the event regulations (see below).

Event regulations

By registering, participants declare their agreement with the event regulations:

  1. The organizer of the Greifenseelauf is Markus Ryffel's AG
  2. The routes are 21.1 km or 10 km, 5.5 km, 1.6 km, 1.2 km
  3. The event will be carried out according to the categories listed in the official invitation to tender
  4. Route service: The instructions of the route service must be strictly followed. Private escort vehicles (including bicycles) are not permitted. Baby joggers are not permitted in any category. Shortcuts and unauthorized aids are not permitted. The organizing committee's arbitration panel will make the final decision on disqualifications.
  5. Medical service: 11 first-aid posts at regular intervals along the entire course and at the finish guarantee a flawless first-aid service. From the 10th kilometer onwards, additional doctors or anaesthesia and rescue personnel are distributed along the course, who are authorized to take runners who are in poor health out of the race either partially or completely. Depending on the climatic conditions, the medical service will order additional special measures (e.g. shower lanes along the course).
  6. Catering: Water will be handed out at eight refreshment stations along the course. At 11.5 km MIGROS organic bananas and at 14.6 km PowerBar gel shots. All finishers will receive a drink at the finish.
  7. Preparation and sports medical examination: Athletes take part in the Greifensee Run under their own responsibility and at their own risk. The organizer accepts no responsibility for accidents or illnesses. The organizer recommends that all participants prepare thoroughly for this run over a longer period of time and have their state of health checked by a doctor beforehand. Those who have had a feverish illness in the week before the run are advised not to take part.
  8. Awards: The first three in each category will receive a prize in kind. All participants can pick up a participant gift at the start number distribution point before the run. The gift is not part of the entry fee. There is no entitlement to it. Children will receive a medal at the finish line.
  9. Insurance: Participants take part in the Greifenseelauf Uster at their own risk and on their own responsibility. Insurance is the responsibility of the participant. The organizer declines all liability for accidents, damage and theft.

  12. Control closure/broom trolley: At the Schifflände Maur passage (km 11.5) the checkpoint closes at 12.30 pm. Runners who pass after the checkpoint closes will be removed from the race. The checkpoint for the half marathon closes at 14:00 for all other categories at 15:40. Runners arriving later will no longer be classified. At the end of the field of runners (21.1 km), the broom wagon (Timetable broom wagon). The crew of this vehicle reserves the right to remove runners with health problems or who do not meet the passage times from the race and hand them over at the next first aid post. These requests must be complied with.
  13. Personal data: Participants agree that the organizer may process the personal data provided by them for marketing purposes and pass it on to third parties (e.g. sending brochures). Third parties refers to partners and sponsors. The organizer undertakes to process all personal data only in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Participants agree to the use of film and photo material for the illustration of websites, ranking lists and other PR purposes (e.g. for flyers, articles in customer magazines) of the organizer and its sponsors and partners. Anyone wishing to object to the forwarding of addresses should notify greifenseelauf@markusryffels.ch in writing up to two weeks before the event.
  14. Personal running videos - Migros MyRun Clips: Migros will create a personal running video, so-called MyRun Clips, for the participants of the event. The running video is free of charge for participants and will be published on the Migros iMpuls, https://www.migros-impuls.ch published. After the event, participants will receive an email with a link to their running video. For this purpose, the name, e-mail address, running data and footage of the participants will be processed. The running video may contain advertising elements that may have been selected based on the data provided. Participants can object to the processing at any time; if they are not interested in a free running video, this can be indicated when registering. The Federation of Migros Cooperatives (FMC) is responsible for this data processing. The processing is carried out in accordance with the FMC's privacy policy, available at https://www.migros.ch/de/datenschutz.html.
  15. Member of Swiss-Athletics: When you register, you also become a running member of Swiss Athletics and the umbrella organization Swiss Olympic. We will pass on your name and e-mail address to Swiss Athletics for this purpose. Your data will only be used for the purpose of registering you as a member and will not be passed on to third parties. This membership is free of charge for you and expires (after one year) at the end of the following calendar year. Further information can be found on the website of Swiss-Running to find. You can revoke your consent to the transfer of your data to Swiss Athletics at any time in writing (e.g. by e-mail to greifenseelauf@markusryffels.ch).
  16. Refund of entry fee: If a registered participant does not start due to illness, there is no entitlement to a refund of the entry fee. When registering online, you can book flexStart cancellation protection from TrackMaxx for 5% of the entry fee. In this case, you will be reimbursed 100% of the entry fee in the event of illness/accident in accordance with the General conditions from TrackMaxx.
  17. One Deregistration must be made online via the change link communicated in the registration confirmation email:
    until 19.06.2026 the starting place can be canceled via the individual change link and a free start code worth the amount paid will be issued for the following year.
    from 20.06. to 19.08.2026, the starting place can be canceled via the individual change link and a free start code worth the amount paid in will be issued for the following year with a deduction of CHF 10.00.
    from 20.08. to 11.09.2026 the starting place can be canceled via the individual change link and a free start code worth 50% of the amount paid in will be issued for the following year.
    from 12.09.2026: Cancellations are no longer possible (unless cancellation protection has been taken out).
  18. Starting position transfer must be made online via the change link communicated in the registration confirmation email:
    until 19.08.2026: A transfer can be made free of charge (already printed/allocated start number must be taken over
    from 20.08 to 11.09.2026: A transfer is possible for a price of CHF 10.00 (assigned start number must be taken over)
    from 12. to 18.09.2026: A transfer is possible for a fee of CHF 20.00 (allocated start number must be taken over)
  19. Starting block divisions can be made free of charge via the link in the registration confirmation until the start numbers are printed. After the start number has been printed, a start block change made by Trackmaxx costs CHF 10.
  20. Cancellation of the run: If the race cannot be held or can only be held in part due to force majeure, official orders or extraordinary risks (natural disasters, war, epidemics, pandemics, etc.), there is no entitlement to a refund of the entry fee.
  21. Combating doping: The current Swiss Olympic doping statute applies to this competition. Doping tests may be carried out. By participating, athletes submit to the anti-doping rules of Swiss Olympic and recognize the exclusive jurisdiction of the Disciplinary Commission for Doping Cases of Swiss Olympic and the Tribunal Arbitral du Sport in Lausanne to the exclusion of the ordinary courts.
